UNA Silicon Valley Chapter Education Charter:

Common Sense:
To maintain diplomacy and independence in any nation or culture, we must have the educational tools always available to all our constituents for the maintenance of objectivity, logic, perspective, geography, history, cultural understanding and competence (good conflict resolution and negotiation capabilities).

What is the unique vision of UNA Silicon Valley?
We advocate to foster a partnership between the UNA and each National Sector (i.e., specifically our sector California, Silicon Valley) in building upon the public educational systems, insuring proper funding and advocacy is always provided for these educational systems to be highly maintained (especially in the middle class - sectors). Students need to develop understanding of and appreciation for other people and other cultures. Teachers can help prepare them for an increasingly complex World by accepting the challenge to incorporate teaching about the United Nations and its role as an advocate for peace.

UNA would like to advocate for sponsorship from industry, etc. to augment govt. funding in providing the tools to keep public educational systems well maintained with the tools needed for supporting objectivity, logic, knowledge of history, cultures, and art of expression).

Some of the activities and tools UNA provides:
UNA-USA has compiled a list of recommended publications on the United Nations for public libraries across the United States. These resources provide a strong foundation on the United Nations, its history, structure, challenges, and role in the world.
